Shenyang Jianzhu University (the original Shenyang Architectural and Civil Engineering Institute) established in 1948 is the only one with its priority given to Civil Engineering and Architecture as well as multi-disciplinary education overlapping among engineering science, industry, literature, administration, nature science, agronomy and law in Liaoning Province People’s Republic of China.
Of the total area of 1,038,960 square meters and total building area of 590,000 square meters, the new campus spans 765,900 square meters with building area of 350,000 square meters in ¡°college town¡± of Hunnan New District in Shenyang. The university has 15 subordinate schools and 1560 faculty members. Current enrollment consists of nearly 18,000 degree candidates, including 12,000 undergraduates, 730 graduates as well as foreign students, and students enrolled in adult and professional schools.
Shenyang Jianzhu University has set up sister relationships with more than 40 universities in 30 countries around the world. In this way, Shenyang Jianzhu University has strengthened its connection with the foreign universities worldwide. SJZU has cooperation with Benedictine University of U.S.A for master degree, cooperation for 4+1.5 of architecture major with UNITEC of New Zealand for bachelor degree, exchange cooperation for faculty and students with Tampere Polytechnic of Finland and exchange cooperation for graduate students with Wismar University of Germany.
